WHY SHOULD I CONSIDER A VIRTUAL CO-OP?
Drawing on the success of our world-renowned cooperative education program, the University of Cincinnati is leading the way in remote work. Driven by accelerating technology, increased connectivity, and a worldwide health crisis, today’s workforce and workplaces are being redefined.
Our greatest challenge is developing the training and resources to prepare, support, and manage remote workers, from a professional development, technical, and distinctly human aspect.
REMOTE WORK LAB AND LEARNING CENTER
Conveniently located on campus, UC’s Remote Work Lab is a collaborative workspace where co-op students can work remotely in a quiet, tech-enabled, productive environment. Employers can reserve a workstation for their student(s) for up to 40 hours per week.

TRAINING
The Remote Work Lab also serves as an educational center. We offer training for students on how to be effective remote workers and for employers on how to be effective remote managers. The Center also offers technical bootcamps and simulated lab environments to help workers learn to use remote work tools such as Microsoft Teams, Slack and Trello. Contact us to learn more.
Additionally, this Remote Work Curriculum is a curated collection of seven LinkedIn Learning modules compiled by Aaron Burdette, Faculty Lead for the NEXT Apprenticeship Program at the University of Cincinnati. Think of it as onboarding for a remote desk. The modules address various aspects of remote work for student co-ops and interns and takes about four and a half hours to complete. We recommend having your student co-op or intern complete the training modules as they start work.
